In recent election cycles, tech billionaires have stood apart from other wealthy individuals, who have traditionally supported Republicans. Many tech leaders supported Democratic candidates like Hillary Clinton in 2016 and Joe Biden in 2020 and were publicly critical of Donald Trump, particularly during his first term.

That dynamic appears to have shifted as Trump returned to the White House for a second term. Several prominent tech executives have since adopted a more cooperative posture toward his administration, with some attending his inauguration. Observers have noted this change as a sign of improving relations between Trump and leaders in the technology sector.

Musk: Influencer-In-Chief(Tesla)

Elon Musk’s growing influence within Trump’s second administration highlights the close relationship between corporate leadership and political power. Musk, who previously supported Democratic candidates and criticized Trump before the 2016 election, shifted his stance after Trump won. By 2024, Musk became a major supporter, contributing financially to Trump’s campaign and using his social media platform, X, to promote pro-Trump messages to a large audience.
Following Trump’s return to office, Musk was given a semi-formal advisory role related to government efficiency, positioning him to influence policies on regulation and spending. Musk and Trump have both expressed goals of reducing bureaucracy and regulations, changes that could benefit Musk’s companies, including Tesla and SpaceX. While Trump has stated there would be no conflicts of interest, analysts have noted that Musk’s wealth has increased significantly amid expectations that his businesses may benefit from future regulatory and government funding decisions.

Sergey Brin: The Reluctant Supporter(Google)

The relationship between Donald Trump and Google co-founder Sergey Brin was initially marked by public disagreement. After Trump’s 2016 election, Brin openly criticized the result, describing it as conflicting with his values. Tensions increased as Google and its platforms took actions that drew criticism from Trump and his supporters, including the removal of certain content and apps associated with pro-Trump groups.
More recently, Brin appears to have softened his stance. He met with Trump at Mar-a-Lago alongside other technology leaders, and Google later contributed financially to Trump’s inauguration fund. These developments suggest a shift toward a more cooperative relationship between Trump and Google’s leadership.

‘Masculine’ Zuckerberg(Facebook/Meta)

During Donald Trump’s first term, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg frequently clashed with the administration. He criticized Trump’s 2017 immigration order, and relations worsened after the January 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol, when Meta suspended Trump’s Facebook and Instagram accounts, citing concerns about further incitement of violence.
Ahead of the 2024 election, the relationship appeared to improve. Zuckerberg met with Trump at Mar-a-Lago, and Meta later donated to Trump’s inauguration fund. The company also made policy and leadership changes, including adjustments to content moderation practices and the appointment of a Trump ally to Meta’s board, moves that observers interpreted as efforts to improve relations with the incoming administration.

"Cooperative" Jef Bezzos(Amazon)

The relationship between Donald Trump and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has historically been contentious. During the 2016 campaign and Trump’s first term, Trump frequently criticized Amazon’s business practices and accused Bezos of using The Washington Post, which he owns, to influence coverage for personal or corporate benefit. Their tensions also extended to government contracting, particularly after Amazon lost a major defense contract in 2019 and later challenged the decision in court.
More recently, the relationship appears to have improved. Bezos met with Trump at Mar-a-Lago and later expressed optimism about Trump’s return to office. Amazon subsequently contributed to Trump’s inauguration fund, suggesting a shift toward a more cooperative relationship between Bezos and the Trump administration.

Bill Gates Bows Down To Trump

For years, Bill Gates and Donald Trump were at odds over science and health. They clashed most during the COVID-19 pandemic when Trump withdrew the U.S. from the World Health Organization, a decision Gates called "dangerous." The Recent Turnaround Following the 2024 election, their relationship has shifted toward cooperation. They recently held a three-hour dinner at Mar-a-Lago where they discussed eradicating diseases and using AI for medicine. Gates said he was "frankly impressed" by Trump’s interest, and Microsoft donated $1 million to the inauguration fund to support this new start
